Brazilian President: Trump is not “the world of the world”

Brazilian President Luise Inusio Lula da Silva urged President Trump to negotiate a trade agreement this week, as the United States has pursued increasingly aggressive measures regarding the criminal prosecution of Jeer Bolsonaro, former President of Brazil.

“What we cannot be is for President Trump to forget that he was elected to the US rule that was elected to be the world’s emperor,” Lola told CNN’s Christane Amanpour on Thursday with a translator. “It would be better to create negotiations first, then reach a possible agreement.”

Last week, Trump imposed a 50 percent tariff on Brazilian goods starting August 1 due to the trial of former President Jayyar Bolsonaro, who holds the title “Trump from tropical regions”.

The former Brazilian president lost an attempt to re -election in 2022 against Lula and interrogate the authenticity of the election results, including the reliability of some voting machines. Then thousands of his supporters tried to storm the country’s Supreme Court, Congress and the presidential headquarters, the actions that Bolsonaro is now accused of inciting him.

Bolsonaro and dozens of allies have been charged in February.

The pressure from the United States escalated on Friday when Foreign Minister Marco Rubio canceled the visas of the judge who supervises the trial of Bolsonaro, as well as the judge’s allies and family members.

In a letter to Lula, which was announced last week, Trump considered the trial of Bolsonaro “a charming chase” and called on the Brazilian president to end it. It does not have no power to interfere with procedures against his predecessor.

“I think this was a mistake. A big mistake, because the message is that President Trump is full of incorrect things.”

In this message, Trump claimed that the United States is running a commercial deficit with Brazil. In fact, the United States has a trade surplus with Brazil. However, Lula said on Thursday that Brazil would do its best to connect a trade deal with the United States

“We will use all the words in the dictionary to try to negotiate. If we cannot reach an agreement, I can reassure you that we will go to the World Trade Organization, or we can collect a group of countries to respond, or we can use the Likewise Treatment Law,”

The United States is the second largest commercial partner for Brazil, which represents about a quarter of US coffee imports.

The threats from Trump were a local blessing in some respects, which was praised to stand at the level of the fascinated foam and saw his hanging approval jump, the New York Times reported.
