Iga Istanbul takes the initiative in the Air Global Hub connection
Iga Istanbul Airport ranked first in the airport industry connection report for the year 2025, which was published by the International Airports Council in Europe (ACI Europe), where Frankfurt Airport has long exceeded the world to become the world’s most connected center.
According to the report – which was developed with the economies of SEO Amsterdam – Iga Istanbul increased its global connection by 59 percent compared to 2019. ACI Europe attributes the rise of Iga to many major factors, including the comprehensive global network of Turkish airlines, the geographical advantage of Estanbul as a natural crossroads between continents, the high operational capacity of the airport, and a flying policies supporting the growth of the Turkish government.
The report also highlights the continuous domination of IGA in the direct communication category, as it maintains the first position in Europe for the second year in a row. Compared to 2019, IgA increased the number of direct air connections by 13 %, after moving from fifth before the epidemic to become the most connected airport in Europe.
