Trump reduces the rate of tariffs of Indonesia to 19 percent

President Trump said on Tuesday that his administration will impose a 19 percent tariff in Indonesia, which reduces the import tax rate that he slapped on the nation last week, which was scheduled to enter into force on August 1.

“We concluded a deal with Indonesia. I really spoke to their great president, very common, very strong, smart, and we have the deal. We have full access to Indonesia, everything,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “As you know, Indonesia is very strong on copper, but we have all full access to everything, and we will not pay any tariff, so they allow us to reach Indonesia, which we have at all.”

“This may be the bulk of the deal. The other part is, they will pay 19 percent and we will pay anything.” “I think it’s a good deal for both sides.”

Trump sent a message on July 7 on the social truth of Indonesia to 32 percent. He previously suggested that he was open to negotiating tariff prices after sending messages to trade partners.

“A lot, for everyone, I made with Indonesia. I dealt directly with their very respectable president. Details that must be followed !!!” Trump wrote online earlier on Tuesday.

Indonesia is one of the best global copper producers, which Trump warned earlier this month, can be a 50 percent tariff as a way to increase its production in the United States, said on Tuesday that the deal with Indonesia opens the use of copper in the country.

“Now, Indonesia has some wonderful products, and also has some very valuable lands and various other materials,” the president told reporters. “One of the things, as you know, is known about it, is very high -quality copper, which will be used.”

It also disturbed a next deal with India, which administration officials said it has been working for months.

“India is mainly working on the same line,” Trump said. “We’ll get access to India. And you have to understand, we have not been able to reach any of these countries.”

The President sent messages to about twenty commercial partners, setting new tariff prices, including 25 percent on Japan, Malaysia, 40 percent on Myanmar and 36 percent in Thailand. Canada, the European Union and Mexico – some of the best trading partners in the United States – have also been hit by updated tax rates.

Trump also indicated on Tuesday that the latest data that found that inflation rose was “inside the margin.” The consumer price index of the Ministry of Labor increased by 0.3 percent a month, an increase of 2.7 percent compared to last year.
