Ashwin Bhat’s trip in Air Cargo began in Bombay, where the messages were sent by Telex. Today, as an executive head of Lufthansa Cargo, he leads one of the most digitally advanced transport companies and focuses on customers. But his original ambition was far from the runway: “My passion was to become a movie director.” While his career has taken a different direction, creativity, flexibility and leadership he admired in the arts continue to form his approach in logistical services.

What are your unforgettable moments in the air freight industry?
Get a nomination as CEO of Lufthansa.

What is the function of your dreams as a child?
A lot of things. But my passion was to become a movie director.

What is the biggest change I saw in the industry?
When I started industry, to send a message to Europe from Bombay, I used to use Telex messages. Now this is done immediately across different channels. This is the largest, I would like to say.

What is the most strange thing that you have ever charged?
I will not call anything unusual. For me, every special shipment.

What are the three elements that you will bring to a desert island?
A collection of songs, two movies, and my cooking book to survive.

What is the best work lesson you learned in the difficult way?
Her hiring people optimistic.

Driving revolves around making things happen and will not happen.

How did you enter the terms of the tendons/logistics services?
I joined Air Cargo early in my career and never looked back.

What is your proud moment?
There are a lot of proud moments in our office. Many moments stand out, not just one.

Look at the brand you work for. Be aware of all the great things that have been done in the past – and now your legacy is to advance.

What is the only element that you cannot travel without?
My passport.

I am a very good cook.
