Avianca transfer more than 20,000 tons of flowers during the Mother’s Day 2025 season


Avianca Cargo, a leading shipping company in the region, has successfully ended the Mother’s Day 2025 season with a historic record, where it transported more than 20100 tons of fresh flowers – an increase of 15 percent compared to last year. Shipping arose from Colombia and Ecuador, where they reached destinations throughout North America and Europe.

This achievement reinforces the position of Avianca Cargo as a flower #1 of Colombia to the United States and enhances its position as one of the best players in the global flower transfer market.

To meet the growing seasonal demand, Avianca Cargo has doubled its operational capacity, expanding critical infrastructure, and provided flower service over 24/7 through strategic stations without disrupting its broader operations.

Miami played a pivotal role in Mother’s Day operations in Avianca Cargo for the year 2025, as it was a basic gateway to flower imports in the United States.

Avianca Cargo was the first airline in the Americas to obtain a new CEV, confirming its damaged transportation, which represents more than 50 % of its shipment. Ensuring the age of flowers requires specialized knowledge, including the process documents about temperature control in critical points as well as risk analysis – the tools necessary to deal with the right with each product.

During the year 2024, AVIANCA was transferred more than 150.300 tons of flowers, over 85 %, through MIAMI HUB.
