Envirotainer to reduce supply chain emissions

Envirotainer has revealed a bold commitment to reducing the total carbon imprint. The company is the first in the industry that determines these wide -based goals aims to reduce emissions not only from its direct operations but also, from the entire supply chain.

Envirotainer has set a clear path to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) that adheres to the goals of the Paris Agreement-with the aim of reducing global warming to 1.5 ° C above pre-industrial levels. By providing its goals to the Science -based goals initiative (SBTI) to verify health, the company takes an approach based on science to ensure that its efforts are meaningful and measuring international standards.

David Simonson, CEO of Envirotainer, said, “Sustainability is woven in everything we do.

By 2030, Envirotainer aims to a 42 % decrease in greenhouse gas emissions (domain 1) directly (range 1), from 2023. The company reduces these emissions through energy -saving measures at the production site and its network stations, such as making an updated energy and equipment upgrading modification. In addition, the company’s production is completely operated through the 100 % renewable energy obtained directly from the suppliers.

This goal also takes into account the complex nature of the transportation of air cargo, especially in managing empty containers. The Envirotainer Strategy in one -way container reduces the need to transport empty containers, making the processes more efficient and less intense in carbon.

For the broader emissions of its supply chain (range 3), Envirotainer targets a 52 % reduction for each added value of purchased goods and transportation at the source and a 19.3 % reduction per ton of air charging-an air kilometer of orbital transportation (use).

By 2050, Envirotainer aims to achieve a net zero in all its activities and those of its suppliers and partners. Simonsson concluded that “our sustainability journey is a very ongoing and cooperative process. Setting ambitious goals is just the beginning. We constantly improve how we measure our effect to ensure that our approach is as effective as possible. More than just a role model, we are actively working with our partners throughout the industry to exchange knowledge, and move the change negatively towards a sustainable future.”

Post Envirotainer appeared to reduce the supply chain emissions for the first time in the week of air cargo.
