Argentina to bring the second LNG disbursement ship in 2028


The Argentina southern energy project said that on Friday it had approved the LNG contract for the second disbursement ship with a capacity of 3.5 million metric tons of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) per year, a ship that was supposed to arrive in the country in 2028.

Under the Southern Energy, the YPF State Oil Producers and other oil companies plan to start the Argentine’s first disbursement ship in 2027.

“One of the largest Floating LNG projects in the world in Argentina has been confirmed,” the Argentine Minister of Economics celebrates Luis Caputo in X, said that together, both ships must be able to export around $ 2.5 billion LNG every year for the next 20 years.

“This will involve the construction of a new special gas pipeline to supply two disbursement ships on Río Negro Beach,” he added. “With this investment Argentina can withdraw 26 million cubic meters per day of natural gas from 2027.”
